NCL Multi-Axis Machining Software

5-axis tool paths on a high-wrap impeller in NCL V10.0.

NCCS, the developer of NCL multi-axis machining software, used extensively in the aerospace, automotive and turbo-machinery industries, will be participating in WESTEC 2013. "NCCS will showcase the latest version of its flagship product NCL V10.0 as well as other state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions including PostWorks, an advanced multi-axis universal postprocessor and NCL/IPV and machine simulator which provides high performance, realistic, simultaneous material removal and CNC machine tool simulation," said a company spokesperson.

NCL V10.0 includes the following enhancements that reduce programming time and increase toolpath efficiency:

  • New Menu Design - The new NCL Menu Design function that brings up the Menu Design form allows the user to define menus using the NCL interface.
  • Multi-line CMD Line - This new feature within NCL brings up the Multi-line Command allowing the user to view, edit and process the source commands.
  • DATA Statements - An added function that displays an interactive form for defining the new DATA statement using comma separated, space or tab delimited files (.csv or .txt files).
  • SMILL - Improved the SMILL (Multi SF scrub) command option to ignore the inner boundaries of input surfaces. The SMILL motion is immediately output to the screen and not processed a second time.
  • Motion Line Measurement - Added the ability to include the displayed motion lines when taking measurements.
  • New Run Options - Added a new feature to NCL that allows additional stopping conditions for the RUN command, for example to stop processing at the beginning of a MACRO, TERMAC, LOOPST and LOOPND or a specific line number.
