WFL and AmTTech formed a business relationship in 2012 with AmTTech being the exclusive WFL representative for Texas. AmTTech now has a new M80 on its floor for customers to view.
As the newest WFL Millturn, the model M80 incorporates the latest technologies such as a U-axis to control facing heads and bottle boring tools for seat pocket machining. The M80 has independently programmable steady rests and tailstock. The boring bar changer can handle boring bars up to 98" long in the tool changer. The M80 can handle up to 440 lbs and a 66" length gun or ejector drill.
"The millturn design on this machine makes it a unique and attractive solution for the oilfield industry," said a company spokesperson. WFL is using a slant bed design for maximum rigidity. The milling spindle has the capability of reaching up to 78 HP and 168 HP on the turning spindle for the extreme machining that the oilfield demands. WFL uses a true gear driven milling spindle with a separate motor for maximum torque making Inconel and Titanium machining a very productive process rather than a challenge.
"This machine is ideal for drilling, downhole, subsea and completion tools componentry," said a company spokesperson. "The end user is able to turn, bore and mill in one operation ensuring high accuracy and less set-up times."
