TIG Welding with Foot-Operated Control

With the 19-pole foot-operated remote control RTF-X TIG by EWM, operators can regulate the current smoothly during TIG welding. This provides more control, convenience and flexibility.

With the 19-pole foot-operated remote control RTF-X TIG by EWM, operators can regulate the current smoothly while welding. Whether root welding or positional welding, users benefit from the increased safety, control and flexibility.

While a welding machine is usually set to a particular, constant welding current, there are cases where it is necessary to vary the welding current. Examples are contour welding or welding air gaps of different widths. If the current can be regulated during these processes, the welder can produce a clean and even seam. While welding aluminum, it also makes sense to regulate the current during the process, depending on the temperature. Usually, there are push-buttons built into the welding torch to regulate the welding current. The disadvantage: the user must operate the push-buttons with their hands during the welding process. A much safer and more convenient option is to regulate the welding current with the new foot-operated remote control by EWM.

The foot-operated remote control by EWM is sturdy and has a nonslip pad. Rubber feet provide stability. A stainless-steel bracket lets users position it wherever they need it below the table, and can also move it during the welding process without having to interrupt work. The bracket can be mounted on the left or right, as needed. Pressing the pedal increases the welding current. This lets users adjust the welding current precisely to achieve the desired weld seam quality. The key advantage: the user has both hands free and can concentrate entirely on the welding process to produce optimum results, even with positional welding.

The foot-operated remote control with its 19-pole plug is compatible with all TIG welding machines-whether Picotig, Tetrix or Tetrix XQ-and with the EWM plasma welding machines.
