Solara Automation Acquired by AAE to Expand Factory Automation Solutions

Solara Automation, located in Morrisville, NC, near Research Triangle Park, has announced its acquisition by AAE, a family-owned, high-tech machine and module manufacturer based in Helmond, The Netherlands.

"Solara Automation has been delivering customized industrial automation solutions for over 20 years," said a company spokesperson. "Our engineering expertise and motivated team are what set us apart. By combining AAE's cutting-edge solutions with Solara Automation's extensive experience, we aim to make significant strides in industrial automation. This move is part of AAE's internationalization strategy and addresses the needs of its globally operating customers."

AAE offers more than just OEM systems. It has provided solutions in printing and assembly automation, as well as ultra-conditioned precision modules. This partnership enables it to offer solutions across a wide range of markets, including, but not limited to, semiconductor, medical, automotive, food and beverage, toys, office, photovoltaic, analytical and life science sectors.

"Ever-increasing demand for factory automation and robotics fueled our desire to partner with a larger firm with the expertise and resources to support rapid growth," said Steve Crouch, Solara Automation. "Early in our discussions, we learned that our missions and technical abilities were complementary. Still, more importantly, we found strong alignment with a people-centric, working-together culture that drives success. We can accomplish great things together."

Solara Automation and AAE will expand to a new 100,000-sq.-ft. building in the Triangle area. This expansion will enable them to offer more complex and larger machines. The new facility will support Solara's growth and manufacturing capabilities and AAE's ambitions in the U.S.
