High-Speed Precision Machining Center Line-Up



Jingdiao North America has announced the latest additions to its high-speed precision machining centers line-up: the GRA50, GRA100 and GRA300. These advanced machines are designed to deliver increased accuracy and repeatability, making them suited for machining complex, tight-tolerance parts. All three machines will be showcased at IMTS 2024 in the South Hall, booth 339153.

GRA50

The GRA50, weighing just 4,409 lbs. and occupying only 24.33 sq. ft., is suited for space-constrained workshops, including those on upper floors. The O4.3" turntable supports up to 22 lbs., allowing precise handling of delicate components. Characterized by 0.1 µm feed, 1 µm cutting and nanometer-level surface roughness, the GRA50 is suited for ultra-precise machining. Its high-speed spindle reaches up to 36,000 RPM, using drill bits as small as O0.02" for detailed micro-hole drilling.

A 21-position direct-access chain magazine meets diverse tooling requirements for small parts. The on-machine detection function quantifies the machine, tools and workpiece status in real time, helping ensure consistent quality. The GRA50 is suited for machining precious metals, and features an internal flushing device and a recovery filter bag at the fluid outlet to maximize valuable metal scrap recovery. Its large, inclined interior design facilitates easy waste removal.

GRA100

The GRA100 is especially engineered for small precision molds and complex hardware parts, making it suited for industries requiring high precision. Weighing 5,400 lbs. and occupying a footprint of 5.48' x 7.25', the GRA100 is engineered to deliver performance without the bulk.

The O6.3 worktable supports a maximum load of 33.1 lbs., allowing precise handling of demanding components. Equipped with a Jingdiao high-speed precision spindle and spindle for precision machining, the GRA100 reaches a maximum speed of 36,000 RPM to meet precision machining needs. Features like the chilled rotary table bearings and screw nut, coupled with a fully enclosed structure, maintain a consistent and thermally stable work environment. Its inclined design and drawer-type collection box simplify chip collection, allowing an efficient waste recycling rate of 3%.

GRA300

The GRA300 is a precision-type Jingdiao 5-axis high-speed machining center suitable for precision machining tasks such as drilling, milling and grinding of complex shape metal hard materials (HRC > 50) and precision die mold parts machining with high surface quality requirements.

The GRA300 is equipped with a Jingdiao high-speed precision spindle with a torque of 21.5 Nm, meeting the needs of a wide range of tools. The O11.8" worktable supports a maximum load of 220.5 lbs., allowing precise handling of demanding components. The machine's 32,000 RPM and 20,000 RPM spindle speeds further enhance its versatility and capability in handling various machining tasks.

Advanced On-Machine Measurement Functions

These features include:

  • Workpiece position detection and correction: Detecting and correcting the workpiece position is vital for accurate machining. This function includes programs that detect and correct the workpiece coordinate system and its position. By eliminating clamping errors and automating the detection process, Jingdiao reduced the need for manual intervention, saving time and increasing precision. These capabilities enhance precision and accuracy, reduce set-up time and minimize the need for additional inspection equipment and personnel.
  • Tool size detection and correction: Jingdiao CNC machines are equipped with functions to detect and correct tool dimensions, including tool length, diameter and contour. This helps ensure that each tool is accurately measured and any deviations are corrected, leading to consistent machining quality.
  • Quality inspection of parts: Inspecting the quality of machined parts is crucial for ensuring they meet the required standards. This function includes programs for dimension detection and form deviation detection, allowing for comprehensive quality checks directly on the machine. This allows high-quality output, detects defects early, reduces the need for post-machining inspections and maintains a difference between the on-machine measurement data and CMM data of less than 2 microns.
