Large Format Fiber Laser with Air-Cooled Cutting Head

Salvagnini has introduced its large format L3-6020 fiber laser with the capacity to process sheets up to 240" long and up to 80" wide.

Available with 6 kW resonator to complement its 2 kW, 3 kW and 4 kW product lines, the large format machine retains the high speed and enhanced flexibility of the smaller machines in Salvagnini's fiber laser product line.

"The L3-6020 comes equipped with Salvagnini's patented, air-cooled, single optics cutting head that makes nitrogen gas cooling unnecessary, while at the same time, providing high cutting quality across the entire range of workable thicknesses," said a company spokesperson.

Flexible automation is built into the L3-6020 fiber laser. Salvagnini's new StreamLaser software automatically manages cutting parameters, drawing upon a database for each material and thickness to achieve consistent, high quality cuts. Salvagnini technology allows sheets of different materials and thicknesses to be processed - in sequence - without stopping production and with all set-ups occurring in masked time.

Salvagnini fiber laser systems can be accessorized with a full range of material handling systems. "There is a Salvagnini storage tower to suit every application, including new, compact LTW and LTWC towers that require no additional floor space," said the spokesperson. All L3 fiber laser machines feature automatic loading and automatic skeleton removal. The addition of an MCL provides a pick & place capability so that no "shake and break" activity is necessary.

"For a Flexible Manufacturing System setting, Salvagnini OPS software enables the fiber lasers to seamlessly exchange information with a company's ERP software to optimize productivity, creating a lean factory that will maximize profits far into the future," said the spokesperson.
