Robots Driven by Balyo
April 1, 2019
Balyo's ProMat 2019 booth demonstration will feature the company's Driven by Balyo software intelligence applied to a counterbalanced stacker and tow tractor model from two of the lift truck partner brands-Yale Materials Handling and Linde Material Handling-enabling each to fully function without a human operator and take on repetitive, low-value tasks.
The Driven by Balyo Balyo navigation technology outfits standard forklift trucks with a LIDAR scanner and proprietary software to enable robots to self-locate by recognizing existing building features such as walls, racks, columns, machines and more. The robot constantly performs a 360° scan of its environment, correlating what it sees in real time with the reference map created during onboarding. A proprietary processor acts as the robot's "brain," connected to mechanical components and commanding all normal functions, including forward, reverse, stop, turn, lift, lower and more.
With no added infrastructure required, the Balyo robots offer quick startup and can easily adapt to changing layouts and other operational features as business needs evolve. The company also provides training and support to expedite initial startup and serve as a consultative resource on getting the most business benefit from robotics.
