Spindle for Mold and Die, High-End Part Production
April 1, 2019
GF Machining Solutions offers its Step-Tec HVC140 CoolCore spindle with HSK-E40 tool interface, designed to provide high thermostability and precision, the spindle is suitable for mold and die manufacturing and high-end part production.
"Featuring through-shaft cooling, the Step-Tec HVC140 CoolCore spindle allows the least amount of thermal growth and recovery time at the tool interface. At the same time, the spindle is designed to deliver enhanced static and dynamic stiffness with the least amount of runout," said a company spokesperson. Its dust-dry spindle nose makes it a suitable choice for medical or graphite machining.
The Step-Tec HVC140 CoolCore spindle is designed to excel at mold component manufacturing for information and communications technology (ICT) applications and other moldmaking applications that require high levels of precision.
For part production, it is particularly suitable for high-precision machining and grinding applications in medical and other applications.
Step-Tec builds more than 100 different spindle models in diameters ranging from 3.54" to 12.60" (90 mm to 320 mm), covering a performance range of 1 kW to 130 kW and delivering torques of up to 1,200 Nm. Induction motors with speeds up to 60,000 RPM and synchronous motors with high power density are also available in Step-Tec spindles, depending on the application.
