Titletown Manufacturing Boosts Ability for Machining Small Parts
April 1, 2019
Titletown Manufacturing has ramped up its focus on efficiently machining small parts in Green Bay for OEMs throughout Wisconsin and North America with an investment in advanced production equipment.
With the addition of the Mazak Quick Turn Universal 250MY, Titletown Manufacturing can use the live tooling lathe to reduce set-up times and provide cost-effective production benefits for customers.
"This machine enables our machinists to turn on the lathe and perform mill work at the same time," explained Dan Hilliard, co-owner and Director of Operations for Titletown Manufacturing. "The machine can cut keyways in a shaft after it has turned. It can also drill and tap holes both on-center and off-center."
The Mazak Quick Turn Universal 250MY features a maximum machining length of 23.7" and a maximum cutting diameter of 16.26". When it comes to machining small parts, Titletown Manufacturing has equipment capable of producing parts as small as 1/4" round or square.
"Titletown Manufacturing specializes in machining small parts for a variety of OEMs, including third-party suppliers for Department of Defense contractors in Wisconsin. "The company's ability to satisfy a wide range of orders, including the manufacture of replacement parts, makes it a valued supplier for multiple industries," said a company spokesperson.
"This machine's multitasking abilities deliver high-quality performance and value for our customers," explained Titletown Manufacturing co-owner and Director of Sales Chris Fuss. "The 250MY configuration brings a milling capability together with Y-axis functionality in one place, which enables our team to machine small parts and larger parts in one set-up, saving time."
