Real-Time Synchronization for NCSIMUL Player

SPRING Technologies has announced NCSIMUL Player 9.2, the dedicated viewer for NCSIMUL Machine, its realistic machining simulation product.

"We recently announced version 9.2 of NCSIMUL Machine with new modules," said Olivier Bellaton, Managing Director of SPRING Technologies. "We are proud to bring our customers NCSIMUL Player 9.2 and its 'Synchro' option enabling them to connect a tablet to a machine tool and simulate a machining operation in real time."

According to the company, NCSIMUL Player is a free 3D viewer that enables NC users to simply and quickly share machining jobs in 3D. It is a fully interactive, collaborative and mobile experience with the NC program linked to the machining simulation for the NC operators and other stakeholders on the shop floor.

New features of NCSIMUL Player Synchro 9.2

  • Integration of new technologies balancing the real and virtual environments:

NCSIMUL Player Synchro 9.2 takes advantage of the latest enhancements to the machining simulation functions of NCSIMUL Machine 9.2 as well as the benefit of perfect synchronization with the NC machines, plus the ability to view the machining operation on any media, including Panasonic's Toughpad tablets.

  • Real-time synchronization - 3D simulation, instruction sheets and real-time machining:

A realistic 3D machining simulation with axis, spindle, tool positioning and machining status, enables instant insight into the machining context. Instruction sheets synchronized with the machining program (tool descriptions, process, operator actions, etc.) are designed to make the work of NC operators easier and cutting out errors of interpretation. Anti-collision radars for each machine axis, in either manual mode (JOG) - tool clearance or tool path - or Auto mode, enable secure decision-making. Adaptive timers managing and indicating machine downtime, tool changes, end of program, end of machining, etc., enable significant time-saving and fully controlled, anticipatory multitask supervision.

  • New user experience for all shop floor stakeholders:

According to the company, SPRING Technologies developed the WYSIWYC technology, including the software, hardware and support to quickly deliver the full benefits of NCSIMUL Player Synchro. This NCSIMUL Player Synchro 9.2 module is based on Windows 8.1 pro, designed for a dual graphic interface for tablets and mobile terminals. This licensed module can be used to view the machining simulation on any type of 100% touch-sensitive medium (PC, tablet, smartphone). The technology is designed to appeal to the Y generation and facilitate the process of learning NC programming in the VR environment.

"Secure, instant information delivers a 25% productivity increase, that is 2 hours per operator and per program. Reduced risk of error and consequently significant help in decision making, plus the ability to supervise multiple machines more easily, with complete mobility across the company, are some of the benefits. WYSIWYC integrates the NCSIMUL Player Synchro 9.2 module to deliver a unique 3D user experience that enhances productivity and competitiveness across the workshop," said Philippe Solignac, Corporate Marketing Director, SPRING Technologies.
