Central Vacuum System Controls Dust and Contaminants
June 1, 2014
Herding LLC provides a Central Vacuum System intended to eliminate the need for conventional brooms and mobile vacuum cleaners while saving energy and reducing maintenance time.
Designed to handle materials generated by a variety of processes such as mixing, packaging, grinding and cutting, the Herding unit is capable of high collection efficiency and continuous dust discharge, even at high product loads, according to the company. Energy savings are realized as vacuum blowers are activated and adjusted only as required. Automatic controls simplify operation.
A typical system is equipped with a 1" suction hose with a 450-600 CFM capacity. The system is zone activated via an inductive proximity switch for the vacuum pump, which is connected to the suction ports of the tubes. Dust is discharged with a vacuum air lock to optimize separation efficiency.
The design allows for multiple users to work simultaneously at different locations. Different hose lengths are available to accommodate need. Additional tools can be added for specialized particulate removal. To minimize the noise level, vacuum blowers can be placed in acoustic hoods. Wear-resistant materials and exclusive Herding filter elements assure a long, useful life, even when working with abrasive materials, said the company.
