Mitsubishi Laser has debuted its latest laser product, model eX-S. Designed to augment the eX line as a more accessible, entry-level version of the existing 2D eX machine, the new eX-S features a 2,700 watt resonator.
"This lower wattage will deftly cut steel thicknesses up to and over 0.75 inch, but considering the cost savings involved with a smaller resonator, operators may be able to add automation to maximize output and optimize the cutting process," said a company spokesperson. "For instance, they can purchase an eX-S with this automation for roughly the same cost as a traditional 6,000 watt eX standalone.
"Replacing former LVP series, eX is the fifth generation in a line of 2D Mitsubishi lasers. These machines are intended to deliver low running costs and eco-friendly features for power and gas consumption, and stable operation for greater productivity.
"Features of the eX-S model include an improved gas change time of 60% over previous models (only about 10 minutes from startup), helical rack and pinion to reduce noise, built-in jet pierce with the ability to aggressively pierce mild steel, a new Mitsubishi control with faster graphical interface and expanded programming options, plus ECO mode for increased cost savings."
