AHK A Press Brakes
June 1, 2014
Knuth AHK A press brakes are intended to be a simple, low-cost option for a variety of press brake applications. All machines feature welded steel construction and brand name hydraulic and electrical components.
Utilizing screw stops in the cylinders, the machines achieve repeatability of +/- .0004". Setting the bottom stop is accomplished by entering the position in the digital readout control. "Operators like the simplicity and familiarity, and the mechanical counters with the complete overload protection of a hydraulic machine," said a company spokesperson. The heavy-duty, side frame-mounted back gauge is also controlled by the DRO and has high and low speeds with a fine adjustment knob on the front. Hydraulic crowning is standard (on machines over 100 tons) and it is automatic, adjustable and proportional to the load. According to the company, this means no shimming or adjusting the crowning table to achieve consistent bend angles.
The machines are shipped with an upper punch, multi-V die and safety systems that include a laser die guard, rear access guard and safety interlocks. A 2-axis CNC control is available and can be retrofitted as needed in the future.
The AHK A series press brakes are available in standard tonnages rated from 40 ton up to 320 ton and lengths ranging from 60" up to 20'. Machines are available from stock at Knuth USA's full service headquarters near Chicago, IL.
