Educational Seminars Promote Understanding of Aluminum

Sapa Extrusions North America, part of a large aluminum profile producer, has announced its 2014 Sapa Profile Academy schedule. The goal of the Profile Academy sessions is to inspire and educate those who wish to gain a stronger understanding of aluminum.
The Sapa Profile Academy provides an overview of various opportunities with aluminum, from inception to production. These training sessions are geared toward designers and engineers, as well as plant, project, production and purchasing managers. Conducted over two days by Sapa experts, these sessions help participants gain a deeper understanding of the principles of aluminum, fabrication, surface treatments, welding, die design, current market application technology and more. Participants also have the opportunity to tour a local Sapa facility.
Specific topics include:
- Metallurgy and alloys
- Design and production
- Surface treatment and corrosion
- Bending and hydroforming
- Joining and welding
- Tolerances
The dates and locations for the 2014 Profile Academy sessions are:
- August 6-7 Portland, OR (building and construction focus)
- September 10-11 South Bend, IN
- November 12-13 City of Industry, CA.
