Colored Displays Prove Value in Checkweighing

"Manufacturers who use checkweighing as a solution for completeness control have fewer missing components and incomplete packages than those that do not," said a Mettler Toledo spokesperson. "However, in manual checkweighing, operators have to read digits to check completeness and errors are bound to occur.

"ICS5 compact scales from Mettler Toledo, with a colorWeight colored display, assist operators by speeding up the process and helping them to avoid these errors. Completeness checks ensure businesses provide their customers with the exact quantity of product they have ordered, ensuring customer satisfaction while optimizing the production process."

The colorWeight display shows a green light when weight is in specification, and a red light when it is not. That means that operators no longer have to interpret numerical displays, and they can quickly determine whether a weight is a go or no-go.

An online simulation offers a trial of the colorWeight technology. It also indicates how much time a business could be saving during the checkweighing process by using this technology. Additionally, a value calculator demonstrates how much manufacturers could improve throughput with the use of a compact scale with colorWeight display. Manufacturers can enter production line information into the colorWeight Value Calculator to see how much a colored display can increase throughput, reduce errors and maximize uptime. The calculator uses actual data from a users' process to show the real value of colorWeight in specific manufacturing scenarios.
