New Colorado Metal Supermarkets Franchise

Metal Supermarkets, a supplier of small quantity metals, opened its first franchise store in Colorado on June 3, the 63rd location in the franchise network. Wheat Ridge residents Steve and Carolyn Senger will be providing area businesses and consumers with customer service and the metal products available at their Metal Supermarkets store located in Wheat Ridge, CO. Customers can buy any size or type of metal they need with no minimum order requirement.

"We are excited to introduce Metal Supermarkets to Colorado and look forward to working with the Sengers to further expand the Metal Supermarkets brand," says Stephen Schober, Metal Supermarkets President and CEO. "With so much industry in the greater Denver area, the Wheat Ridge store is in a great position to thrive."

As a mechanical engineer, Steve Senger worked in the Midwest. The Sengers were looking for a business that filled an unmet need in the marketplace. With a background in engineering and management, the Sengers believe the Metal Supermarkets system is a good fit for them.

"We really like Wheat Ridge and the store has a great location off I-70," said Steve Senger. "There is a gap in distribution chain in metals industry. As an engineer, do-it-yourselfer and hobbyist, I have seen the need for Metal Supermarkets first-hand. I am excited to be leading the way in Colorado and meet the demand for cut-to-size metals."

Currently, the Sengers employ two full-time staff members and hope to hire another person by the end of the year. They also plan to open more franchises in Colorado.

The Metal Supermarkets business concept was established in 1985 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Since then, the company has grown to more than 63 franchise locations across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Customers include manufacturing facilities, maintenance departments, tool and die makers, fabricators, machine shops, military and other government departments, hobbyists and home owners.
