Plano Hosts Contract Manufacturers Expo

The National Association of Manufacturers reports nearly 12 million Americans are employed directly in manufacturing, and manufacturers are contributing over $1.8 trillion to the economy. Many of the top contract manufacturers will be in Plano, TX, in September to display their capabilities to top level purchasing, engineering and production managers.

AmCon, a contract manufacturing show in the Southwest region, will be hosted by the Plano Centre on Sept. 17-18, and features over 100 contract manufacturing exhibitors. The event is a source for engineering, design, prototyping, forming, fabricating, machining, finishing, assembly and electronic manufacturing services.

"Engineers and buyers can investigate a variety of manufacturing options and find the best processes and materials for their applications," said Kevin Woods, producer of AmCon Design & Contract Manufacturing Expos across the United States. "Attendees can get quotes on current projects and compare quality, pricing and lead times from multiple vendors all in a few hours."

Attendees from the region include original equipment manufacturers in the industries of aerospace, telecommunications, medical, government/defense, military, electronics and more who will be searching for contract manufacturing and job shop services.

Included will be seminars on the 3D Printer Revolution, Lean Manufacturing, Negotiation, The Power of Persuasion and more. Engineers and buyers can attend the seminars and then visit the exhibits to see how the various processes are being applied.

"Attendees can bring their prints and parts for review by the technical people staffing the booths," Woods said. "These are serious working shows where a lot can be accomplished in a very short time."

Exhibit hours are 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on September 17 and 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM on September 18. Free tickets are available at the door, or attendees can register for free in advance at www.amconshows.com or by calling 800-829-7467. Parking at Plano Centre is also free for attendees.
