Cost-Effective Parts Finishing
June 1, 2026
For manufacturers seeking a versatile and cost-effective parts finishing system, ALMCO offers its VB-1631 as part of the company's Value Base (VB) Series of vibratory finishing tubs that are offered at lower price points.
The VB-1631 features a 5.3 cu. ft. working capacity, a 30.5" tub length, and a 16.5" tub cross-section. Manually loaded and unloaded, the machine's aggressive vibratory action means that the parts are finished to a shop's desired specifications, the company reported.
The machine is versatile and can process parts in batches using a wide variety of finishing media. Users simply load parts and media into the machine's tub, and then counterweights on a spinning vibrator shaft cause the spring-mounted processing tub to rapidly oscillate on its springs.
This motion causes the mass of parts and media within the tub to vibrate and roll within the tub in an orderly fashion. The amplitude can be adjusted by varying the amount of counterweight, enabling processing from delicate finishing to intense deburring.
The VB-1631 performs wet or dry processing and is well-suited for low- to mid-volume production applications. Equipped with a thick, wear-resistant polyurethane liner engineered for maximum durability and an integrated sound hood for reduced operating noise. Available options include an automatic lubrication system, a chemical dosing system, a flow meter, a tub divider, and a product discharge door. Optional UL 508A electrical controls are available.
