Speed, Precision, Versatility Take Center Stage at MAZAK Northeast Event

Mazak will welcome manufacturers from the New England and Mid-Atlantic states to its DISCOVER MORE WITH MAZAK Northeast event on June 10-11 at the Mazak Northeastern Technology Center in Windsor Locks, CT.

The company will spotlight the latest machine technology, automation opportunities, and application support available to aerospace, defense, medical, and precision machining industries that need to make more parts faster, hold tighter tolerances, and adhere to strict part specifications. Live real-world part cutting demonstrations will showcase the advantages of machines for multi-tasking, full 5-axis machining, vertical machining, CNC turning, and Swiss-type production turning.

Those shops looking for high part-processing productivity will experience Mazak's INTEGREX j-300, QT-Ez 10MY and QRX-50MSY multi-tasking machine tools. For DONE IN ONE single set-up machining, the INTEGREX j-300 specializes in 4-axis simultaneous machining with 5-axis tool tip positioning and will be machining a threaded nut with multiple features. The machine performs turning, milling, and drilling operations and features a main turning spindle with C-axis control and 10" chuck capability for the quick, accurate processing of simple and complex workpieces.

The QRX-50MSY, another DONE IN ONE machine, is the latest addition to Mazak's versatile HQR Series of 2-turret/2-spindle CNC turning centers with milling and Y-axis functions. The machine features a 15% smaller footprint, with floor dimensions of 119.3" (3,030 mm) by 86.6" (2,200 mm), while maintaining throughput and reducing cycle times. Additionally, its modular design uses common machine components such as identical left and right spindles, upper and lower turrets, and upper and lower carrier drives.

Mazak's Kentucky-built QT-Ez 10MY Turning Center will demonstrate its multi-tasking capability together with a Mazak Ez LOADER 20 compact, collaborative robot automation system. Cutting a threaded spindle component, the machine features milling and Y-axis off-centerline capability, a 10" chuck and a 20" bed length, as well as an 8" chuck option.

On the vertical milling side, Mazak will showcase its VARIAXIS C-600 VMC cutting application-specific aerospace and medical, the VC-Ez 20 VMC machining high-demand job shop parts, and the VC-Ez 16X VMC showing its full 5-axis capabilities. The VARIAXIS C-600 incorporates a rigid C-frame for high dynamics and structural stiffness. Compared to a standard 3-axis vertical mill or even a traditional 4+1 trunnion set-up, the machine delivers true simultaneous 5-axis capability with greater table load, enhanced kinematics, and reduced set-up times across multiface parts, the company reported.

The VC-Ez 20 and VC-Ez 16X are part of Mazak's Kentucky-designed and built Ez Series of machines that combine compact footprints with streamlined programming and fast set-up capability. The VC-Ez 20 offers greater throughput, process flexibility and efficient floor space utilization.

The VC-Ez 16X's 5-axis rotary/tilt trunnion table with roller gear cam technology increases part-production capabilities with 360° of C-axis rotation and -110° to +40° of B-axis tilting capacity. In addition to Mazak's MAZATROL SmoothEz CNC, VC-Ez VMCs are now available with the option of a MAZATROL SmoothG CNC that features model-assisted programming to simplify part creation and reduce programming time.

Completing the lineup of machining technologies in action, Mazak's SYNCREX 25/8 represents Swiss-type machining the Mazak way and will machine hydraulic valves at the event. With a maximum bar diameter of 1" (25 mm), the SYNCREX 25/8 powers through the production of parts with a 10,000 RPM main spindle as well as a 10,000 RPM counter spindle. The machine's 8-axis configuration provides four cross-working live tools on the main spindle, as well as up to six live tools and a Y-axis for the counter spindle.

All Mazak machines, including those displayed at the Northeast event, are backed by Mazak MPower Complete Customer Care comprehensive machine support program. In addition, Mazak Capital Equipment Financing (MCEF) gives shops an easy one-stop, factory-direct financing option for Mazak equipment.
