Twin Spindle VMC-Single Table Or Pallet Changer

"DMC's new line Twin Spindle VMCs (DVD-4300, 5200, 6500) with U-axis is designed to provide a cost and space saving solution for production machining, general machining and moldmaking markets. This is a multi-axis, twin spindle vertical machining center (VMC) with superior merits," said a CNC Systems spokesperson.

The DMC DVD5200 series is especially suited for all types of accurate machining due to the independent capabilities of Z1-axis and Z2-axis along with a micro-adjustment of a U-axis of +/-2 mm (+/-0.0787"). "This adjustment allows the two spindles to be offset in the X-axis direction, which enables the reduction of jig fixture set-up times as well as the compensation of wearing tools," said the spokesperson. "Cost reduction and higher productivity are realized with two spindles and two ATCs compared to two 3-axis stand-alone VMCs, with an estimated reduced spindle cost of 25%, a 40% floor space savings and one operator instead of two".

Standard features of the DVD 5200 include: FANUC Oi-MF/direct 12,000 RPM spindle, BIGPLUS CAT #40 taper, two 25 HP main spindle motors, two 30-tool station ATCs, spindle oil chiller, coolant through spindle preparation, internal augers and a lift up style chip conveyor. With XYZ axis travels of 40.94" x 20.47" x 23.62" and an open height in Z-axis from 5.91" to 29.52", a variety of workpiece sizes are able to fit into the work envelope. Table size is 47.24" x 20.47" (load capacity of 1,760 lbs.). The DMC DVD series also has additional models including DVD4300 (30 taper) DVD5200L (longer Y-axis option) DVD 6500 with 50 taper spindles. All models can be equipped with an automatic pallet changer (APC) for even greater productivity.
