Big-Bore Machines for Oil and Energy Industries

SMW 600-275 BB-N-ES self-contained extended stroke O25" chuck with O10" bore mounted front and rear

"Expand Machinery has identified ways to help customers be more competitive with their Ganesh line of Big-Bore manual and CNC lathes with front and rear mounted power chucks. Spindle bores up to 15 inches and swing capacities of up to 55 inches are available to serve customers' specific needs and help them reach their next level of productivity," said a company spokesperson.

The Ganesh GTW-3060 features 25" SMW self-contained chucks on the front and rear spindle mounts with 10" bores to address oilfield applications. The machine features an 8-station vertical turret and can also have a rear cross-slide 4-way turret mounted, or a rear cross-slide boring bar holder up to O6". The FANUC 0i-TD control features Thread-Repair-Cycle and Manual Guide-i shop floor programming capability. The operator merely has to place the threading tool in the center of a good portion of the remaining thread and tell the control so that it will ensure that the thread lead will be precisely at that spot when cutting the full length of new thread in the exact radial location of the original thread.

Expand Machinery offers Multi-Tasking Ganesh lathes with up to 11-axis to make short work of complex parts for profitable production. The Ganesh Big-Bore lathe series starts at 22" swings and goes up to 55" lathe swing capacity with bores up to 15". Rear chuck mounts are available on both the manual and CNC Big-Bore lathe series. The vertical machining center line starts small and goes up to 100" in X and 35" in Y for fast, efficient machining of workpieces of every size.

"Expand Machinery has extensive capabilities in production analysis, automation and turn-key solutions in support of challenging production applications, and offers a complete line of CNC milling and turning machines to provide greater manufacturing efficiency," said the spokesperson.
