5-Axis VMC Offers High-Capacity Performance
October 1, 2019
MC Machinery Systems' Eagle V9 5-axis vertical machining center (VMC) has a solid and precise design engineered to provide high-capacity performance and reliable results.
The Eagle V9 is able to withstand a 1,100-lb. workpiece on a 23.6" table surface. Optimal positioning is obtained by HEIDENHAIN's iTNC-530 control unit mounted on a mobile pedestal. Designed with a convenient side opening, the Eagle V9 is designed to allow robot loading from either side, and with pallets up to 19.7" in size.
"Achieving a fine finish while maintaining high rigidity is simple for the Eagle V9 because it employs a U-shaped polymer concrete base, B-axis support and a high-quality rotary table C-axis. Other components include a 36,000 RMP integrated spindle, heavy-duty, roller-type linear guideways and a dual gantry drive. "With the X, Y, Z, B and C axes all moving simultaneously, the Eagle V9 can execute high-precision cuts. Inclined surface machining, spiral contour machining, irregular contour machining and other complex cutting tasks are now a reality, and all in one place," said a company spokesperson.
This machine utilizes a zero-backlash gear drive combined with a direct drive motor. "The end result of using Eagle V9 is an enhanced worm gear set-up in drive transmission and power efficiencies," said the spokesperson.
