Mazak Northeast Event to Highlight Productivity Enhancing Innovations
May 3, 2016Mazak will host its seventh annual Discover More With Mazak event at its Northeast Technology Center in Windsor Locks, CT, May 3 – 4 from 9 AM to 6 PM. This technology and education event will feature Mazak CNC machine tools as well as other innovations designed for enhancing productivity and versatility on the shop floor. A special day for students will be held on Thursday, May 5.
Mazak application specialists will provide real-world metalworking demonstrations on a complete line-up of Mazak machines to show the latest advancements in milling, turning, 5-axis and multitasking technologies for job shops and manufacturers in the aerospace, firearms and medical industries. Several of the company’s Value Inspired Partners will also be on hand to discuss how tooling, fixturing, CAD/CAM and other machine peripheral equipment can create total manufacturing solutions.
“Event attendees will see Mazak’s SMOOTH Technology, a process-performance platform that combines the company’s MAZATROL Smooth CNCs with advanced machine design and engineering resources to create ease of use and productivity,” said a company spokesperson. SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY also gives users digital manufacturing functionality by supporting the MTConnect open-source, royalty-free manufacturing protocol and allowing machines with an MTConnect adapter to collect data from the CNC.
MAZATROL Smooth CNCs have an intuitive human-machine interface and offer several features and functions designed to further enhance the performance of Mazak machines. Application experts will demonstrate the CNCs’ Orbit Machining, Position Controlled Hobbing, Real Time Tuning, Smooth Corner Control and Intelligent MAZATROL Pocket Milling programming functions.
In addition to machine and technology demonstrations, Mazak will host several presentations on the latest metalworking tools, trends and techniques to help manufacturers improve productivity and profitability. Attendees are encouraged to bring their most challenging manufacturing projects and industry-specific parts to the event to discuss solution options with applications experts.
Students from local learning institutes are invited to visit Mazak’s Northeast Technology Center on Thursday, May 5. “By showing students that manufacturing is a viable and growing industry that offers many lucrative career opportunities, Mazak seeks to help close the skills gap that constrains many manufacturers’ ability to meet increasing production demand,” said a company spokesperson.
Mazak’s Northeast event share the same dates as SME’s Mfg4 event taking place at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, giving manufacturers the opportunity to attend two industry events during a single visit to the area.
Lunch will be served daily, along with a BBQ in the evening for attendees.
