Speakers Announced for AIMS Quality Manufacturing Event
May 10, 2016AIMS Metrology has announced keynote speakers for its Advancing Quality In Manufacturing educational event May 10 – 12, 2016. The coordinate measuring machine OEM is featuring individuals from the aerospace, medical and automotive markets.
Mike Fish PhD, Co-Director of Dontyne Systems Limited based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, will open the sessions on Tuesday with a discussion on practical application of measurement data to create a closed loop gear manufacturing system for optimizing production. Fixture Designer Heidi Taylor, of Grand Haven, Michigan-based R&R Fixtures, will follow by talking about measuring process requirements that pose challenges for manufacturers and the characteristics needed to ensure accurate part measurements.
Glastonbury, CT, Prolink Software’s Bruce Bringham and Gene VanPatten will take the stage on Wednesday to talk about the proper way to conduct gauge repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) studies and how to efficiently collect data to provide real-time data that is useful for process control across value streams.
Wayne Nye, Team Leader, CSMC CMM Programming Group, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, CT, will lead a discussion on Thursday about how to implement 5-axis inspection technology for aerospace components. Meyer Tool Owner and Vice President of Quality Beau Easton, Cincinnati, OH, will close the session with a presentation on using measurement data in a feedback system to minimize scrap rates.
AIMS’ three-day event, held at its Dayton, OH, facility, will also include plant tours and new equipment demonstrations. “Register for this free event and take the opportunity to network with speakers and talk with on-site engineers about quality measurement challenges you may be having on your own shop floor,” said a spokesperson.
