Dovetail Clamping System for Parting and Grooving

ISCAR's PENTA IQ Grip is another addition to its parting and grooving line. The dovetail clamping system of the PENTA IQ Grip is designed for rigidity of the insert in the pocket, therefore capable of recessing side forces. "The unique five cutting edges with side elevations are especially designed for optimal surface contact. Inserts are capable of parting off up to 40 mm (1.575") work piece diameter off to the center," said a company spokesperson.
PENTA IQ GRIP has a dovetail clamping structure that provides face contact of the insert, designed so the insert is rigid in the pocket and therefore capable of holding side forces. All these characteristics are designed to provide straightness and surface finish for parting applications. A new user-friendly clamping mechanism enables quick and easy insert indexing. The five-edged inserts are especially designed for deeper grooving and parting applications. Three insert sizes are available for parting 22, 32 and 40 mm diameter bar stock.
