New Precision Waterjet Cutting System

Medical parts - titanium, magnesium, special alloys, ceramics, etc. - without any structural changes or impurities

Glass, laminated glass, activated glass without micro-cracks

High-precision parts for the watch industry

Spring steel with unchanged material properties

Ceramics, compound materials, fiberglass, carbon-fiber, Kevlar and sandwich construction

Precious metals, non-ferrous metals - material remains unchanged, expensive materials are recovered

Microwaterjet, a provider of precise machining and production, now offers its new microwaterjet C4 precision waterjet cutting system that incorporates the features and functionality of the brand's original waterjet machine in a smaller footprint. "It is ideal for specific applications and in research and laboratory work," said a company spokesperson. "Operations that do not require wide substrates or have limited space and budget available will especially benefit from this technology."

According to the company, the C4 features the following:

  • Overall dimensions: 1,500 mm x 1,800 mm
  • Travel range for X/Y axes: 540 mm x 320 mm
  • Travel range for Z-axis: 50 mm
  • Positioning accuracy: ± 0.003 mm
  • Cutting accuracy: ± 0.01 mm (depending on material and thickness)
  • Kerf width: 0.2 mm (0.008")
  • Surface quality: equivalent to N7 or Ra1.6 µm
  • Ability to cut a wide range of materials from rubber to hard alloys
  • Fast prototype production
  • Flexible production / Just-in-time fabrication
  • High cutting speeds, accuracy and surface quality
  • Low cutting forces
  • Optimal material usage
  • No thermal impact (load)
  • No change in material structure
  • Narrow kerf width
  • Minimal burr on the cutting edge
  • Little to no rework (finishing).

A custom presentation of the microwaterjet C4 is available by contacting the company.
