The LT2000 EX is Okuma's flexible twin-spindle turning center in the 6" chuck class. "With the ability to combine the upper and lower turrets with either spindle, this CNC lathe enables process flexibility, very high feature utilization and the ability to complete the greatest amount of primary and secondary machining possible in one compact platform," said a company spokesperson. This machine is suited for automotive industry applications.
The LT2000 EX can be specified in a variety of configurations to maximize benefits for specific circumstances. "It is available in either two or three turret versions, with or without Y-axis, to provide optimal process balance, production throughput and integrated operations," said the spokesperson. This multifunction horizontal twin-spindle machine integrates lathe and mill/drill functions on all turrets. Thirty-two tool stations are available for either mill or lathe functions for the twin-turret machine and 48 for the 3-turret machine.
Key specs of the LT2000 EX include the following:

- Spindle nose type: Ø 140 [Opt. A2-6]
- Speed range: 50~6,000, 50~4,500 RPM
- Standard power: L/R: 11/7.5 (15/10) kW [22/15 (30/20) HP]
- Rapid traverse (X/Z): 30/40 m/min / (1,181/1,575 IPM) C: 200 RPM, Y: 15 (591).
