Software for Simulation and Modeling

Dassault Systèmes will exhibit at IMTS to showcase its manufacturing solutions portfolio, including planning, simulation and modeling solutions, featuring a virtual twin experience for operations that allows companies to assess their manufacturing assets, production lines and factories in a virtual 3D model environment. With a single 3D data model across operations, manufacturers can virtually experience their entire business, from assessing design requirements to scalability for global demand. With the virtual twin experience, visualization extends beyond the product into manufacturing and operations-simulating manufacturing processes before the physical plant or production line even exist.

"Today, manufacturers face significant challenges such as a lack of skilled talent and distressed supply chains," said a Dassault Systèmes spokesperson. "New initiatives, such as smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 are poised to help overcome these issues and improve overall efficiencies, but companies must adopt the solutions that support this transition and quickly respond to the competition and new market opportunities."

Dassault Systèmes' portfolio of solutions, powered by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, provides a business and operations framework at the core of what manufacturing is all about: technologies and solutions to pursue sustainable innovation and deliver results at global scale, from ideation through manufacturing and delivery. The virtual universes created on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform enable users to create virtual twins of products, machinery and entire factory floors to enable rapid product iteration, minimize equipment downtime, validate transportation and logistics plans and improve operational resiliency and flexibility for factory reconfigurations.

"By combining the virtual experiences and real-world operations, the 3DEXPERIENCE twin enables companies to better understand and make decisions that deliver on the sustainable manufacturing vision," said the spokesperson.

Dassault Systèmes has exhibited at IMTS since 2014 and is anticipating more than 40 of its team members will be on-site this year across two booths within IMTS. Booth #135777 (Lakeside Building, Level 2) will feature demonstrations including:

  • Manufacturing Operations Management - quickly ramp up and execute production, track key production metrics and support assembly, fabrication and repetitive manufacturing lines.
  • 3D Lean Operations Collaboration - boost the operational performance of teams, product and process quality.
  • Factory / Plant-Level Planning & Scheduling - adapt to changing market demand tactically at the factory level and fulfill customer orders.
  • Supply Chain & Workforce Planning - maximize return on assets by improving revenue through optimized supply and demand matching.
  • Molds, Tools & Dies, Customer Machinery - create digital models that virtually simulate products, processes and factory operations.
  • ERP for Mid-Market Manufacturers - DELMIAWorks ERP is built on a single database that provides end-to-end manufacturing software functionality including finance, sales order management, material resource planning, production scheduling, production monitoring, quality assurance and warehouse management.
  • 3D Design - quickly create and collaborate on 3D designs in the cloud and deliver innovative products to market faster on a platform built to design, simulate and manufacture products.

Dassault Systèmes' Booth #133120 (Lakeside Building, Level 3) will feature demonstrations including:

  • Virtual Twin Experience for Operations - 3DEXPERIENCE Twin for Operations allows manufacturers to assess their manufacturing assets, production lines and factories in a virtual 3D model environment and address the need for on-shoring or nearshoring of additional products or rebalancing factory output to address demand.
  • Digital Additive Manufacturing - close the gap between the "as-designed" and "as manufactured." Minimize trial-and-error runs and material waste, validate the process using actual machine and material parameters.
  • The Future of Design - see design-to-manufacture solutions from Dassault Systèmes' SOLIDWORKS portfolio applied to a variety of design challenges, including cloud-based tools with workflow integration for robotics and factory simulation.

Dassault Systèmes will be featuring the Kassow robot model KR1805 in its 15x20 Booth #133120 in East Hall/Lakeside, Level 3. With the release of “Robot Programmer,” Dassault Systèmes will showcase how it can program and simulate robots with the 3DEXPERIENCE Works portfolio. The robot arm is unique compared to other cobots in the market as it has seven degrees of freedom. The user-friendliness of the cobots provides businesses with greater flexibility, allowing SMEs without their robotics specialists to achieve complex automation and programming cost-effectively and independently. Moreover, the cobots are compact enough for use in confined spaces. The typical use-cases are: Pick-7-place, dispensing, packaging, quality inspection and machine tending.
