Steve Tomeno discusses the new FANUC Wire EDM Ci400C with attendees
OptiPro Systems LLC recently hosted its annual Technology Open House and Steakout at the company's Technology Center headquartered in Ontario, NY.
With the growing labor shortage impacting the industry, the team focused on automation integration and pre-engineered solutions. Highlights included FANUC robots integrated with a KIWA Triple H40, as well as a Hyundai WIA HD2200SY. Also on display was a Methods Machine Tools pre-engineered automation solution, the FANUC Plus K.
"As an authorized FANUC Integrator since 2020, we have the ability to provide our customers with a complete solution that addresses their staffing shortages," said Ken Johnson, Machine Tool Division Manager. "Automation and robotics are not taking away jobs, but rather providing the opportunity for people to utilize their skills in a new area."
Attendees witnessed machines in action with demos featured on KIWA, Swistek, Hyundai WIA, Nakamura-Tome, FANUC Robodrills and the new FANUC CiC400 Wire EDM.
The Metrology Center featured demos on Starrett Vision Systems, ZEISS O-Inspect, as well as Renishaw's automatic gauging system, the Equator.
Throughout the two days, vendors showcased tooling and toolholders, bar feeding and machine monitoring systems and other machine tool accessories.
Mastercam staff presented short courses on the new Mastercam 2022. These were hosted in-person this year after virtual sessions were held remotely in 2020.
