Hurco North America Celebrates Field Service Apprentices

(l-r) Charley McCaw, Hurco Techical Specialist and Instructor, with FSA participants Michael Sterrett, Luke Fleck, Benjamin Lively and Randal Holder with Mark Gilmore, Hurco National Service Manager

Hurco North America recently honored the first class of the Field Service Apprenticeship (FSA) program for their completion of all Factory Training Courses for CNC Installation and Repair.

In the first phase of the FSA program, participants completed a comprehensive 12-week industry training course that merged hands-on training and repair of CNC machines with classroom instruction. Hurco's four graduates will now work alongside seasoned Hurco field service engineers to help them further hone their skills and gain valuable field experience.

To celebrate their achievement, Gregory Volovic, President and CEO of Hurco Companies, Inc., presented each graduate with a commemorative certificate. Volovic said, "Completion of your course training is the first step toward a rewarding future. Hurco employees have an average tenure that far exceeds the typical tenure in the machine tool industry. I believe the dedication to our customers that Hurco employees demonstrate daily and their desire to keep improving and learning are reasons they choose lifetime careers at Hurco. There are many opportunities in front of you as you enter the next phase of the inaugural FSA program. We are excited to watch you learn and grow throughout your career at Hurco."

In addition to classroom and hands-on training, the FSA students were exposed to a variety of machine and control options to provide them with a solid non-brand specific foundation, which also allowed them to see what differentiates Hurco control technology from the competition in terms of usability and functionality.

These new field service engineers will ultimately become valuable ambassadors for Hurco Companies, Inc.-working to provide technical support, training and service of Hurco's state-of-the-art CNC machines at customers' facilities across the U.S. and abroad.

The FSA program takes place at Hurco's international headquarters in Indianapolis, IN. Applications are open for the next FSA class that begins in November. For additional information and to apply, visit Hurco.com/Apprentice.
