Inland Northwest Economic Developments

Inland Northwest Economic Alliance has announced several projects, initiatives and economic developments taking place in eastern Washington and northern Idaho.

Jubilant HollisterStier announced a $92M investment to expand sterile injectable manufacturing capacity at its site in Spokane, WA. The investment is being made to set up a high-speed 400 vials a minute injectable fill line with isolator technology, which will enhance the Spokane facility's capacity by 50%. The expansion will be spread over 50,000 sq. ft. and will be commercially operational by the end of 2024.

Continuous Composites (Coeur d'Alene, ID), a developer of composite 3D printing technology, has been awarded a $750,000 Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the Department of Defense (DoD). The SBIR topic focuses on Attritable Structures, Engines and Sensors of Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Systems and Space Systems. The contract is in collaboration with the Air Force Research Laboratory and the primary technical objectives of this contract are to fabricate an organically integrated wing spar and rib configuration into a single component, resulting in a unitized wing frame for the Low-Cost Attritable Aircraft Technology/Platform.

Spokane Valley, WA, based Crown West Realty LLC has purchased nearly 40 acres of vacant industrial land in Spokane Valley where the company plans to develop a 600,000 sq. ft. multibuilding industrial park. The planned industrial park is located just east of the Spokane Business & Industrial Park, which features over 4.5 million square feet of space.

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) broke ground on a new 140,000 sq. ft. printed circuit board facility in Moscow, ID. Dr. Ed Schweitzer III, Owner and Operator of SEL, said, "We are creating career opportunities for folks where they can go to school, come to work here and still stay at home." SEL has facilities already in Pullman and Lewiston. The new plant will be used specifically to fabricate circuit boards used in SEL products. This expansion will create approximately 60 new jobs. Construction is expected to be finished mid-2022.
