A Chucking System with No Air Tubes or Hoses
September 1, 2021
Northfield Precision Instrument Corporation is a designer and manufacturer of precision workholding chucks. One of Northfield's specialties is mounting air chucks to rotary tables and pallets. Northfield's engineering team has developed a chucking system that requires no air tubes or hoses.
This Pressure-Lok air chuck is charged with air by a special handle and holds air pressure for over two weeks. These chucks can be mounted to rotary tables with no through-hole, tombstones, pallets, transfer systems, etc. The Pressure-Lok air chuck is useful in machining operations that do not have an air tube near the machine.
Northfield designs and manufactures air chucks for any lathe, boring machine, grinder or VMC. Models include through-hole, high-speed and quick-change. Chucks are available in SAE or metric, in sizes from 3" (76 mm) to 18" (457 mm) with accuracies of 0.001" to 0.00001". Custom workholding chucks and jaws are available and engineering assistance is offered.
