Röhm has optimized some of its HSK clamping sets, which are used for high-precision and reliable tool clamping. In the new HSK clamping set, the collet segments are connected with a replaceable clip ring instead of vulcanized rubber. The collet segments can be easily clipped into the retaining ring during disassembly.
"These enhancements as well as other improved material properties offer several advantages," said a company spokesperson. "The clamping set can be easily and quickly assembled, and the new clip ring system extends the life of the collet segments and provides significant cost savings. Errors due to deteriorating vulcanization are avoided, resulting in an optimized opening operation of the clamping set. However, if damage does occur to the holding ring, the user can easily repair it. The Röhm HSK clamping sets generally have an approximately 27% shorter installation length for smaller space requirement. Moreover, the clamping force is approximately 39% greater than required, providing more safety. Compact force flow ensures high system stability."
Röhm also offers a practical assembly tool for easy and safe installation of the HSK clamping sets. "The installation process can be particularly uncomfortable and time-consuming when it comes to spindles that are difficult to access," said the spokesperson. "By using the clamping set assembly tool, the segment collets can be installed in the spindle within seconds and with just a few movements. Using this assembly tool also avoids damage during the process, so there are no scratches on the clamping set or on the spindle. The clamp ring installation aid provides significant time savings and streamlines the installation process, providing increased productivity and profitability."
