Laser Lenses for Steel Cutting

A new line of ZnSe laser focusing lenses that come in various focal lengths for 200 W to 4 kW CO₂ cutting lasers processing heavy steel plate has been introduced by Laser Research Optics.

Laser Research ZnSe Focusing Lenses feature focal lengths from 3" to 10" in 0.5" increments and are designed to let users select the best lens for their laser cutting application. These CO₂ lenses are offered with a proprietary Cool-Cut coating that absorbs less than 0.15% of laser energy to protect against heat damage or with standard A/R coatings, providing less than 0.2% total absorption.

Optimized for 10.6 microns, Laser Research ZnSe Focusing Lenses are offered in 1" to 2" O.D. sizes with thicknesses ranging from 0.250" to 0.380" and come in plano-convex and -meniscus configurations and can be supplied plain or mounted. These CO₂ lenses are suited for OEMs and field-replacement.
