LK Metrology Launches CMM Measurement Services Department

The metrology services lab has three LK Metrology CMMs installed.

Located in its new North American Tech Center, LK Metrology has built a new CMM Measurement Services Department for performing contract dimensional inspection using the latest metrology software with state-of-the-art multi-sensor technology applied to the newest LK Metrology CMM designs.

"As we continue to build the LK Metrology brand here in North America, it is important that we provide a complete range of CMM products and services in our served markets that include aerospace, appliance, automotive, off-highway, medical, defense, plastics and an array of commercial products," said Brian Samson, Managing Director of LK Metrology's North American operations. "Our new Measurement Services Department is now providing CMM dimensional inspection for all types of precision engineered components, manufactured parts and assemblies in a new state-of-the-art environmentally-controlled lab, and our highly-experienced Metrology Services Team is providing the needed consultancy and training for customers all over North America. The facility is certified ISO17025 for calibration services, which allows LK Metrology to certify its CMMs used for contract services. LK Metrology is focused on working with our customers' quality teams to provide the most comprehensive measurement services available."

LK Metrology's CMM resources include: overall measurement volumes up to 2.5 m (98") x 2 m (78"); an LK Metrology SCANtek5 CMM; an LK Altera M CMM; an LK Altera C CMM; and a soon-to-be-installed larger 25.15.12 LK Altera M. A broad range of CMM probes and sensors that include Renishaw SP25M scanning probes, REVO2 5-axis multi-sensor system, SP80 high-accuracy scanning head and Nikon Metrology L100 and LC 15Dx laser scanners are available.

LK Metrology software capabilities include LK Metrology CAMIO, Renishaw Metrology Modus, Nikon Metrology FOCUS, Nikon Metrology CMM-MANAGER and InnovMetric POLYWORKS|INSPECTOR.

LK Metrology's CMM measurement services include, CMM dimensional inspection for complex geometries, freeform surfaces, thin-walled parts, 2D/3D profiles, reverse engineering and non-contact scanning.

LK Metrology provides quality reports for full dimensional inspection, first article inspection, series inspection, analysis and investigation, process capability studies and statistical process control (SPC).

LK Metrology's consultancy and training services include standard and customized GD&T, inspection process optimization, best-practice CMM metrology, CMM programming and operation, and migrating legacy CMM programs.
