Acquisition Expands CNC Machining Platform

Nick A. Busche, President and Chief Operating Officer of Busche-Shipston, has announced the procurement of 3Point Machine (3PMI). 3Point is a product designer/supplier of safety-critical suspension components as well as drivetrain, powertrain and various other complex machined products from a wide range of materials.

"We are pleased to welcome 3PMI to the family under the name of Busche Performance Group Southfield, Inc., doing business as Busche-Southfield. Busche-Southfield has a strong and talented operating workforce under the leadership of General Manager Darwin Gordon."

Busche, who is also the CEO and President of BUSCHE, went on to thank Michael Dingman, Shipston's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for his vision, expertise and commitment.

Dingman said, "3PMI has been a leader in product design and engineering and a Tier 1 supplier of safety critical precision machined components and assemblies to the heavy duty, military and automotive markets for over 50 years. We see a unique alignment with 3PMI with our investment philosophy and how we manage it for the long-term. We believe that as part of Shipston, 3PMI will be exceptionally well-positioned to support our customers' needs into the future."

"The acquisition of Busche-Southfield brings with it 130+ employees and a state-of-the art 136,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in the heart of Detroit's automotive sector," said Busche. "The Busche-Shipston organization now has 10 machining operations, one workholding and fixturing facility and two aluminum design and casting foundries. This combination brings our total employment to over 1,500 strong and our total manufacturing area to over 1.3 million sq. ft. Also with Busche-Southfield's strong engineering and product design capabilities, we have added a new dimension to the services we can provide to our valued customers."
