Video Measuring Microscopes with Image Processing at MD&M EAST 2016

Mahr Federal will feature the MarVision MM 320 and the MarVision QM 300 video measuring microscopes with image processing capability at MD&M EAST.

Mahr Federal will feature the MarVision MM 320 and the MarVision QM 300 video measuring microscopes with image processing capability at MD&M EAST, June 14-16, 2016, Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York, NY, Booth #2121.

Designed for the measurement and/or dimensioning of geometric elements, the MM 320 and QM 300 video measuring microscopes incorporate integrated CCD color cameras with zoom lenses, 23" touchscreen PCs with keyboard and mouse and Windows-based M3 software.

MarVision optical measuring instruments offer solutions to many different 2-D measurement and inspection tasks. Applications range from cutting tools and precision products for manufacturing, plastics, and medical technology, to miniaturized electronic components. These extremely precise measuring instruments are designed to meet the highest quality and production requirements.

Mahr Federal's MarShaft SCOPE 250 plus flexible optical system for shop floor measurement is designed to provide fast, accurate, fully automatic measurement of smaller shafts and turned parts directly on the shop floor. It features a matrix camera with four million pixels, and measures parts up to 250 mm in length and 40 mm in diameter. "Its MPE (Maximum Permissible Error) of less than 1.5 microns + L/40 when measuring diameter and 3 microns + L/125 when measuring length is significantly more accurate than other systems using line cameras," said a company spokesperson.

The MarShaft SCOPE 250 plus provides out-of-the-box functionality. Lab tests in Providence measured 28 features on a sample shaft in fewer than ten seconds, and a customer part with seven required features in less than three seconds.

Also on display at Booth #2121 will be:

  • MarCal digital calipers and MarCator digital indicators with wireless data transmission capability. Both send data to a small i-stick receiver, resembling a common USB flash drive. With the MarCom software for data acquisition the operator takes a measurement and transmit measuring data can go directly into MS Excel or via a keyboard code into any Windows program without the need for external transmitters or cumbersome add-on transmitters.
  • Selections from Mahr Federal's broad line of surface measuring instruments, including both portable roughness measurement devices and computer based stationary surface measuring systems. In addition to the new PocketSurf IV, there will be the MarSurf PS1, the MarSurf M300 and the MarSurf M400. Mahr's stationary system line includes the MarSurf XR 1, which combines mobile surface metrology with the advantages of MarWin evaluation software; and the MarSurf XCR20 that combines roughness and contour measurement systems.
