Southwestern Industries Showroom Open House at RIT
June 7, 2016Southwestern Industries will showcase its TRAK 2OP portable VMC on June 7 at its new showroom at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) located at James E. Gleason Hall, Building 009, Room 2430, Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop, Rochester, NY 14623.
Designed for second operation machining, the TRAK 2OP streamlines a shop’s workflow by bringing an additional spindle quickly and easily to an operator idled by the cycle time of his or her primary machine. Like all Southwestern Industries’ products, it utilizes ProtoTRAK CNC technology with easy to learn and use conversational language programming. Programs can be generated either at the machine or remotely to perform tasks normally associated with second operation machining, including drilling, tapping, countersinking, face milling, and the machining of profiles, pockets and bolt hole patterns.
Other TRAK 2OP standard features include an 8-station tool changer that eliminates the need for manual tool changes, built-in Jergens ball locks that facilitate quick changeovers and a pallet jack. The latter is designed to allow a person to move the compact (2.5’ x 4’ footprint) TRAK 2OP to any desired shop location within minutes to improve workflow.
Southwestern Industries will also display a bed mill and lathe from its TRAK product line of machines designed for one-off and small lot work. Like the 2OP, these products feature ProtoTRAK CNC technology.
A complimentary lunch will be served and Kennametal’s Machine Tool Industry will co-exhibit its latest product offerings.
