Large Double Column Surface Grinder

Sharp Industries, Inc. of Torrance, CA, is offering its new large capacity double column surface grinders. The SHDC series of automatic grinders with NC downfeed features offer a wide range of grinding capacity. It comes with 47" x 65" of cross and longitudinal travels to 47" x 242" travel. It has a high column design with 43.3" distance from spindle center to table, which allows extra clearance for large workpieces under the wheel. Clearance between the two columns is up to 55". The entire longitudinal ways are hand scraped to ensure perfect alignment and full contact surfaces. It allows the accuracy in straightness of 0.02 mm/meter (0.0007"/39") in both cross and longitudinal travel. The longitudinal ways are designed to be longer than the worktable so that the workload is fully supported at all times without any overhang situation. The hydraulic system operates the longitudinal table movement. The electro-mechanical system operates the cross movement. It offers continuous and intermittent travel along the column. The vertical downfeed is driven by servomotor with MPG for manual operation. The vertical head is equipped with 10 HP motor, and cross head movement is equipped with 25 HP motor.
