EDM Technology Displayed to Dealer Network
November 1, 2015
KGK International Corp. (KGK-I) recently displayed Seibu wire EDM machine technology to its dealer network at KGK-I's Arlington Heights, IL, headquarters. The purpose of the event was to educate the dealers on Seibu's products, technology and the relationship between KGK-I and Seibu. It was the first time dealers were able to see the Seibu wire EDM products first hand. Dealers were treated to hands on demonstrations and product presentations. All Seibu wire EDMs are hand scraped and made in Japan.
Seibu's M50B high precision wire EDM was on display. Seibu's M50B precision wire EDM has axis travels of 19.7" x 13.8" x 12.2". The M50B features the user-friendly FANUC 31iWB series control, which includes over 4,000 cutting conditions. Dealers also learned about Seibu's all in one AWF. The wire is first annealed which straightens the wire as it passes through the round wire guides. This AWT can thread through wire break points and while the machine is submersed. It can also thread wire down to .002" diameter.
"Dealers were most impressed by Seibu's patented CORE STITCH technology. Seibu's CORE STITCH welds the wire EDM cores (slugs) so they do not fall and possibly cause damage to the machine. The cores can be removed by tapping lightly," said a company spokesperson. "An operator can reduce cutting-off process time by up to 97%."
Seibu wire EDMs are manufactured at its ISO certified factory located in Fukuoka, Japan.
