July 1, 2022
CNC Engineering, Inc. and Meltio have announced that CNC Engineering will play a key role in the distribution, integration and support of the Meltio metal 3D additive manufacturing (AM) solutions for FANUC CNC and robotic systems in the U.S. market.
CNC Engineering, Inc., a FANUC CNC Integrator, specializes in the integration and support of FANUC CNC machine tool retrofits; Renishaw probe and laser systems, rotary tables and additional axes; FANUC robots; and now Meltio AM solutions.
"Meltio develops high-performance and easy-to-use metal AM solutions using wire LMD technology-the safest, cleanest and most affordable metal feedstock in the market," said a spokesperson.
CNC Engineering and Meltio designed this hybrid additive + subtractive manufacturing solution. According to the companies, the technology offers several advantages:
- Production savings by reaching nearly 100% material utilization
- Generate complex geometries in a single process
- Combine different materials into a single part
- Utilize AM in the shop by taking advantage of existing machines, saving floor space.
