Chain Hoists and Trolleys Added to Lineup

The GP2500, combined with the GMF6300 motorized trolley, achieves a maximum load capacity of 6,300 kg in two-fall operation.

The trolleys have a new type of adjustment system in which the flange width is steplessly variable and can be positively locked by means of a locking function.

The GP series and GMF motorized trolleys are available in ATEX versions.

Swiss electric chain hoist manufacturer GIS AG has launched two additions to its GP series and a new generation of trolleys.

The GP1600 and GP2500 electric chain hoists expand the capacity of the range to 6,300 kg, while the GHF/GMF manual and motorized trolleys feature higher capacity in addition to optimized, quiet running and extended service life.

"The GP2500 is a first in the company's 60-year history in that it enables an increase in capacity from the previous 5,000 kg in two-fall operation and lifts 3,200 kg in a single fall," said a company spokesperson. The GP1600 features a lifting capacity of 2,500 kg (one fall) or 4,000 kg (two falls). The range now extends from the 12 kg light GPM250 with 320 kg lifting capacity up to the two new versions.

As with existing GP models, protection class IP65 is standard, providing dust-tightness and protection against water. "With its compact, robust design, every GP chain hoist is suitable for both dusty environments and outdoor use," said the spokesperson. All shaft-hub connections are manufactured to a self-centering polygonal design.

Erich Widmer, Sales and Marketing Manager at GIS AG, said: "Disassembly and assembly during maintenance work is therefore faster and requires no special tools, which reduces service costs. The low-wear DC spring-loaded brake, as well as a contactor control without sensitive electronics, ensures further operational safety."

For applications with an exceptional duty cycle in addition to high switching frequency (multi-shift operation), a version with a frequency converter is available. Variable speeds and a soft start provide precise, gentle positioning of the load. ATEX versions (dust or gas protected) of the GP1600 and GP2500 can be used in explosive environments.

New Trolley Generation

The new trolley generation consists of manual (GHF model) and motorized (GMF model) versions with a 26% higher capacity compared to previous models. A stepless variable flange width facilitates on-site installation.

The GHF/GMF trolleys are designed for increased flexibility and durability. They are available in four sizes with capacities of 1,250 kg, 2,500 kg, 5,000 kg and 6,300 kg. The helical gear and flat or convex rollers, with a larger diameter, can be tuned to the wing to provide a longer service life.

Widmer said, "The flange width is steplessly variable due to a new type of adjustment system and can be fixed positively by means of a locking function."

The trolleys are matched up to the GP chain hoists and form a compact complete unit. The product can also be used as components for end carriages of underslung overhead travelling cranes and are available with frequency converters for movement of the load without overshooting.

Widmer said the trolleys feature side plates made of grey cast iron with integrated fall and climbing protection and are also available in a corrosion-resistant version up to 1,250 kg capacity for food, chemical and pharmaceutical wastewater treatment and outdoor applications. He added: "Both the electric chain hoists of the GP series and the GHF/GMF trolleys are made in Switzerland, are robust and designed for tough, everyday use."
