PFERD Announces Successor to President

Mariano Presas

PFERD INC, a global manufacturer of abrasives, brushes and power tools, has appointed Mariano Presas as President-Americas effective August 31, 2019. Presas will succeed Gene Huegin who will retire at that time.

In a newly expanded role, Presas will be responsible for PFERD operations including PFERD Canada, PFERD INC. in the U.S. and PFERD Latin America. He will report to the Chief Sales Officer, at August Rüggeberg GmbH, PFERD headquarters in Germany. This new structure will allow a cohesive management of the Americas.

Currently Presas is president of PFERD Latin America. Prior to joining PFERD, he was managing director-Latin America for Dayton Superior, a single-source provider of concrete accessories, chemicals, forming and paving products for the non-residential construction industry. Before that he was sales and technical services director-Mexico for HILTI, a global tool and fastener manufacturer.

Starting in early 2019 and throughout the year, Presas will gradually assume more responsibility and spend more time in the U.S. culminating with Huegin's retirement.

Presas said, "I look forward to the challenges of this new role. PFERD is a recognized leader in the metalworking field and its products are well respected. I plan to carry on that tradition and improve upon, where I can, the company's position throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America."

Huegin added, "I have enjoyed my 20 years with PFERD and am committed to completing my tenure as president with the same commitment and enthusiasm I have had since my first day. I am absolutely confident that Mariano will help lead our organization to even greater success in the years to come."
