Royal Machine's vertical machining center (VMC) with 90° spindle head can manufacture customized right angle and table fixture plates up to 80" x 90" whether requiring a series of tapped holes, tee slots or series of ball-lock bushings.
Guy Byrne, Senior Vice President and General Sales Manager, said, "In today's manufacturing environment, there is a desire to simplify the fixturing in order that any fixture can fit on a number of machines and not be dedicated to a single model machine. The most common practice is to have a universal mounting platform."
Royal Machine table fixture plates up to 80" x 90" can accommodate tooling clearances by placing the part higher above the machine table. In addition, a fixture plate may be used to provide a common mounting for various fixtures on various machines thus, reducing changeover time and providing commonality to all machines in a facility.
Customized Royal Machine universal right angle fixture plates can adapt manual chucks or a variety of clamping combinations to hold single or multiple parts. They are designed for use with low volume parts and prototypes assisting in simplified changeovers.
