Milwaukee Snap-on Plant Receives 1st Place Rapid Continuous Improvement Award
October 1, 2016
Overcoming stiff competition from other Snap-on facilities around the country, the Milwaukee Snap-on plant was awarded first place in the "Operations" category at the recent 2016 Snap-on RCI (Rapid Continuous Improvement) Convention.
Peter Zinda, Manufacturing and Systems Analyst for the Milwaukee plant, shared one of the secrets for their success: "We have been working with PortCNC and using eNETDNC now for over 10 years for program downloads. Within the last two years we have installed the eNET Machine Monitoring solution on many of our machining cells. Utilizing the actual cycle time data we gathered, we were able to demonstrate how even a few seconds improvement in machine cycle time can significantly increase product output. This played a key role in the Milwaukee plant winning first place in the Operations category." The win by the Milwaukee Snap-on plant has led to interest in eNETDNC and machine monitoring from additional Snap-on facilities seeking increased machine efficiency.
Zinda added, "Over time we have found that eNET has been a solid performer, and prompt support is just a phone call away. We especially appreciate being able to have the software customized to meet our specific needs without incurring a huge expense."
