Beaver Aerospace & Defense, a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries (PSI) and designer and manufacturer of custom ball screws for commercial and military aircraft, has upgraded its machining capabilities with the addition of two new DMG MORI 4-axis ecoMill 1100 V vertical machining centers (VMCs).
The VMCs feature a 12,000 RPM spindle and offer tolerances of .0001,Äù. They are equipped with direct drive rotary tables (DDRTs), allowing parts to be completed in one set-up, and can handle parts up to 40" x 20". Both machining centers feature 30 tool pockets and allow 3-D designs to be loaded into the controls.
"With these technology investments, we are able to increase the speed, accuracy and part processing size for our customers, which reduces their overall costs," said Ben Kearns, General Manager at Beaver Aerospace & Defense, Inc.
Beaver Aerospace & Defense is also a certified FAA Repair Station that offers repair, overhaul and testing services for all electromechanical actuators and ball screws.
