Explosion Proof Stop/Start Momentary Switch

Larson Electronics has released a 10 amp explosion proof momentary push button switch for controlling machinery or process in industrial and commercial applications.

The EPS-2XPB-SG-MS explosion proof momentary switch is Class 1 Division 1 and 2 and Class 2 Division 1 and 2 rated for hazardous locations. This start/stop push button switch is constructed for heavy-duty use and is factory sealed, eliminating the need for added seal fittings and compound. The switch is enclosed in a separate sealing chamber that has smooth, double flanges that mate both to the cover and the mounting enclosure to provide flame tight joints. Stainless steel hex head screws attach the sealing chamber to the cover and mounting enclosure to ensure complete sealing. The housing for this explosion proof switch is made of a malleable iron body with a cast copper free aluminum alloy cover that is epoxy powder coated for a natural finish. This switch is designed for use in applications such as chemical plants, oil and gas refineries, paint manufacturing plants, gas loading terminals, grain elevators and metal handling or finishing areas where the atmosphere may contain hazardous gases and dusts.

"This push button switch is rated for 10 amps at 600 volts and provides a manual start and stop operation for small AC and DC motors that are normally found in processing and manufacturing plants," said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics. "The switch is UL 698 listed and rated for explosion proof locations, but may also be used in non-hazardous areas where a sturdy, durable enclosure is required."
