Eaton Compressors has invented a silencer that helps reduce the noise levels for which compressors are notorious. The patent-pending filter silencer, named Whisper 100, has the ability to reduce the noise associated with piston air compressors.
"The noise level of high RPM air compressors can be as high as 90 to 100 DBA, which can be extremely jarring on the ears and create an uncomfortable situation at the workplace," said Matt Cain, President and CEO of Eaton Compressors. "Our filter silencer will solve the vexing problem that most consumers face while handling air compressors."
"With the Whisper 100, Eaton Compressor aims to change the way air compressors are used," said a company spokesperson. "Consumers today have to spend heavily on reducing noise level of air compressors. They are often forced to build compressor rooms or have to install them in a shed outside the working area."
Eaton Compressor's Whisper 100 is designed to end such inconveniences. The air compressor noise suppressor allows companies to mount their compressors in their work area. By using Whisper 100, they can reduce noise from a piston compressor and will not have to create special enclosures and sheds for the compressors.
Whisper 100 has the ability to drop noise levels of air compressors by 8-10 DBA. It can also filter the intake air, which can help in improving the longevity of the air compressor. The noise reducer can be mounted directly from Eaton Compressor's factory or can be purchased separately by the consumers.
"The Whisper 100 houses the compressor air filter and comes with internal baffles to trap and mute the intake compressor noise," said the spokesperson. Each baffle comes with extra filtration washable filters that filter the intake before entering the compressor filters. This can help protect the air compressor and improve its life and performance.
"The efficient Whisper 100 does not reduce the efficiency of the pump in any way. The noise reducer allows the pump to breathe without restricting the barometer efficiency," said the spokesperson.
