Optomec and Delcam Enter into Global Sales Partnership
July 1, 2016
Optomec and Delcam, an Autodesk company, have entered into a global sales partnership whereby Optomec will sell and support Delcam products in conjunction with sales of its Aerosol Jet systems for 3-D printed electronics.
Beginning in 2015, the companies commenced development activities to enhance Delcam's FeatureCAM software to support Optomec's Aerosol Jet five-axis system for 3-D printed electronics. "This collaboration brings together Delcam's additive manufacturing software expertise with Optomec's 3-D printed electronic technology to address next generation electronics manufacturing challenges. The end result enables Delcam software to create additive five-axis tool paths that drive Aerosol Jet systems to print sensors, antennas and other functional electronics virtually anywhere onto mechanical structures maximizing design and manufacturing flexibility for a new generation of smart devices," said a company spokesperson. This collaboration builds upon the recent strategic investment Optomec received through Autodesk's Spark Fund, which supports ideas that push the boundaries of 3-D printing.
"Through this collaboration, Delcam and Optomec have developed and are delivering production ready additive manufacturing solutions to meet next generation printed electronic product challenges," said Christian Briscoe, VP Western U.S. Sales for Delcam.
