Automated Machine Loading
July 1, 2016
The NSA plus module for the VEROS quick change pallet system helps ensure precision for automated machine loading. "The low installation height means space is left in the machine room while the robust design guarantees a secure hold, even at rough machining," said a company spokesperson.
The VERO-S NSA plus palletizing module achieves pull-in forces of up to 20,000 N. The holding forces are higher than 100,000 N. "Even in the case of demanding volume cutting, the shear forces are absorbed without having to change the workpiece position. If needed, it can be directly integrated in the machine table," said the spokesperson.
In order to prevent the access of chips and dirt into the automatic changing process, a forced air flow cleans the faces during pallet change and helps ensure a chip-free contact face of the pallet. The centering rings then ensure positioning, and clamping slides for a form-fit, self-locking fixing, making the repeat accuracy amounts to less than 0.005 mm. A system monitors the dynamic pressure of every process step: module open, module closed and presence of the pallet. For pick up purposes, the pins lift the pallet and simplify the pallet change.
